Date Fields
The Date Field allows users to capture dates with ease. It is perfect for tracking deadlines, events, appointments, or any date-specific data in your application. This field type ensures consistency in date formatting and enables functionality for filtering and sorting based on date values.
Creating a Date Field
There are two ways to create a new Date Field in Buildaible:
Way 1: Adding Fields via Table Settings

Access the Table Settings:
On the table, click the down arrow next to the table name, then select “Table Settings” from the dropdown menu. -
Navigate to the Fields Tab:

In the Table Settings screen, click the “Fields” tab.

Click the “+ New Field(s)” button in the top right.

Select Date as the field type and configure the settings.
Way 2: Adding Fields via Manage Fields

Open Field Management:

On the table, click the “Manage Fields” button.

Add a New Field:

In the Manage Fields modal, click the “+ New Field” button.

Choose Date as the field type, provide a Field Name, and customize the settings.
Settings for Date Fields
When creating or editing a Date Field, you can configure the following options:

Show in Table Home: Toggle this option to display the field in the default Table Home view.

Field Required: Ensure this field is mandatory for a record by enabling this option.

Unique Value: Enable this setting to ensure no two records in the table can have the same date value.

Default to Current Date: Automatically sets the date to the current day when a new record is created.

Default Value (Optional): Set a specific date to appear as the default when adding a new record. This is useful for pre-filling a standard date.

Helper Text (Optional): Add a short explanation or instruction to guide users on how to use this field.

Description (Optional): Click the + Description link to provide additional context about the field’s purpose and usage for collaborators.
