External Forms: Seamlessly Collect Data from External Users

At Buildaible, we’re constantly exploring new ways to help you manage your data more effectively. One of the features we’re planning to introduce is External Forms, which will allow you to collect information from external users—such as customers, vendors, or partners—and store it directly in your Buildaible applications.

What Are External Forms?

External Forms will transform any internal Buildaible form into a shareable form that external users can access and fill out. These forms will enable you to collect data from external parties without giving them access to your internal Buildaible app or requiring complex API integration.

How It Will Work

  • Convert Internal Forms to External:

    • Select a form in your Buildaible app, such as one used to create or update records.

    • Configure it to be an External Form with just a few clicks.

  • Embed or Share the Form:

    • Generate an embed code to add the form to your website, or share the form via a public link.

    • Customize the look and feel of the form to align with your brand for a seamless experience.

  • Direct Integration with Buildaible:

    • External users will fill out the form, and their submissions will automatically create or update records in your Buildaible app.

    • All data flows directly into your system without requiring any API configuration.

Why This Matters

  1. Simplified Data Collection: Avoid the hassle of building custom forms and integrations—External Forms will handle it all natively within Buildaible.

  2. Secure and Private: External users can submit data without accessing your Buildaible application, keeping your internal data safe.

  3. Streamlined Operations: Automatically capture and store information from external parties, reducing manual entry and ensuring data consistency.

Use Cases for External Forms

  • Customer Onboarding: Let customers enter their details, which are then automatically stored in your CRM or other internal apps.

  • Vendor Submissions: Allow vendors to upload documents or provide order information directly into your Buildaible app.

  • Event Signups: Collect registrations for events and populate participant records in real-time.
